Corbett,
A X-Mas party is pretty much just like any other mixed crowd event (ie Wedding, corporate party, ect.). Except you play alot of X-mas music during the Coxtail/Dinner hours. I would however save.... The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting....) - by either Nat King Cole, or Luther Vandross and..... White Christmas - Michael Bolton, Frank Sinatra, or Bing Crosby For later in the evening for people to slow dance to. 2 More things.... 1) Make sure it is a "Christmas Party" and not a "Holiday Party" before going to nuts on Christmas songs, too many companies are becoming politicaly correct these days. 2) I'm going to move this to the Mobile DJ's forum, as it fits better there. |

If you're looking for Christmas/holiday music, Time Life has a lot of good compilations.
Like Stevie said, make sure it's a "Christmas" party, not a "holiday" party. If you have a religiously mixed group, you have to play a little for everyone. Although, not every Christmas song is religious in nature. Frosty the Snowman Jingle Bells Walkin' Round in Womens Underware And don't forget eveyone's favorite: Christmas in Hollis - Run DMC |
