I do lots of gigs for VFW's, Elks, campgrounds etc..and I have talked to people in bands and other MDJ's...and they and I all agree on one thing...as soon as the 50/50 raffle is done it is like a ghost town..You start with 300 and soon as 50/50 you may have 10 left...What I started doing is holding my prizes till about 45 minutes till I am suppose to be done...I give away Cedar Pioint tickets, boat trips etc....I was wondering does anyone else go through the same thing as far as the crowd leaving halfway through your gig..

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum BigB.

I have never done a 50/50 at a show. I have done raffles for charity functions I have done, but that's about it.

I would agree you want to hold off on the raffle as long as you can or spread out the winners through the event.

Yes I agree but I had to learn that the hard way unfortuantely.now I always say You MUST be present to win and hodl off the big prizes (mostyly tickets to Cedar Point) till about 10 minutes before my time is up...of course when you DJ at a campground more would rather sit by the fires at their campgrounds gulping down some brew than in a musty building, can't really say that I blame them but it is still very upsetting...
