Having a problem with the profile for Chauvet Colorsplash Jr. Color channels are labeled wrong. Example Channel 1 does nothing Channel 2 is supposed to control red but , instead controls dimmer. Channel 3 is supposed to control Green, but controls red. Channel 4 is supposed to control Blue, but controls Green. Channel 5 is not supposed to control anything, but controls blue.

Hmm sounds more like an addressing issue. Wait. Chauvet has added an extra channel without telling anybody. Double check the address and I will double check the profile.

The color splash jr's use 5 channels. Not 4. Add a blank channel for chan 1 I think....and all will be fine.

Like i said, Channel 1 is blank, so it throws the profile out of wack by causing the red channel to become the dimmer and so on and so on.

No he means add a 1 channel profile where needed. U can add a generic dimmer profile found in the generic folder.

I can't find a manual or even the product on the Chauvet site, which is also stupid. Sorry, but even as a Chauvet customer, I grow increasingly frustrated by this company. I found a manual elsewhere.

Now, without having one of these to test with, WHY would the profile have 5 channels? The manual states it is a 4 channel fixture. So, what we're saying is "1st channel is unusable, move everything else up 1 channel?".

Is this some sort of problem with the design of the fixture?

No wonder ADJ has issues making new profiles for their lights. The company making them can't properly write manuals. Without buying one, how can they be sure. Ugh.

This just helps me re-affirm my decision to stick with ADJ products.

I couldn't find a generic profile that would do what I am looking for.

I found your You Tube Video on creating your own profiles and have created a 5 channel profile with the software.

Yeah it is stupid. I bought my splash jrs about a year ago, and had to figure out the problem with the help of youtube users.

The channel 1 is a "future" channel. I don't think there is much else that fixture can do though.

Well, we're certainly in agreement over that.

Personally, after reading the manual, they should use channels 1,2,3 for RGB respectively, 4 for the FX stuff and 5 for dimming, instead of putting FX and dimming on the same channel.

Someone provide me a listing of the channels and the real specs for this fixture here, via IM or via my "contact us" form on my web site and I'll see if I can add this blank channel into this fixture. The main thing is that I want to be sure where the blank channel is as I don't have time for a while to dive into YouTube videos. I'm currently involved in preparing for being sued(credit card crap) and doing lots of video transfers that must be very closely monitored.

So, if you guys save me time, I'll go do it ASAP once I have the information and save you the time right back IF I can figure it out and will make it available for download on my web site.

I've made several profiles for other fixtures that I own from Chauvet. This is not because the lights were not matching their DMX charts, but because the ones ADJ provided(or did not provide) were not complete, accurate, or existing. Case and point is the Q-Spot 150. It has multiple modes, so I had to make profiles for each mode because ADJ only provided for one mode. My Intimidator Colors? Didn't exist. My spots by them? Same deal, didn't exist.

But I agree with ADJ's policy. Support YOUR products first, everyone else secondary. What I think I've heard rumors of is that ADJ is trying to figure out some what to make a site or forum specifically for profile sharing. I'd do it myself but I don't have time to research such an app for my web server.

Future channel. Seems once lights hit the production line, that's often it at this level. I have heard of firmware upgrades for consoles, but not fixutres. Theoretically it's possible, just I've never seen fixtures get updated firmware. ROMS are cheap. EPROMS, comparatively speaking, are significantly more expensive and have a higher chance of failure, although this chance of failure is in my experience close to nill. I've never had an EPROM fail on me yet.

I have the existing profile, I examined it last night when I was reading this thread. That is, if you're talking about the one that currently exists in the MyDMX library.

I found a profile for Chauvet Vue VI which is close to Vue 4.1 . But is there a profile for the 4.1 anywhere.

Chris. your file for the chauvet splash jr is a SSL2 file. How? I tried opening the ssl2 file in my library editor and it says critical problem. Who created this profile or did you add the 2 at the end of ssl?? Let me know as to me ssl2 is for the next gen profile creator.
