I'm new to this forum thing, I got Mydmx and I,m trying to build my stage for my band (3D mode),got a couple of flash ropes and trying to create a profile so I can add them in, also how do I profile dimmer packs to run my par cans,dimmers get one address with 4 channels.

Hey james thanks,I understand the dimmer pack theory, but I can,t find anything on the flash ropes, I found a post from a guy who wanted to do the same thing with the strobes but no one answered him, I need a profile for the flash ropes can you help, thanks

Hollywood i cant find any info on the flash ropes. how are you hooking them up? a dmx dimmer pack or what? Let me know. and ill get a profile out to you ASAP.

Hey thanks, appreciate your time, I've spent hours trying to find a patch that I could use in their place, I,m running them through a dimmer pack, it would be nice to have a patch for them though, Thanks!

If u have them on a dimmer pack how many channels are you using? How many ropes do u have? and why not just use a generic profile? Let me know.

I,m using 2 ropes on one channel (each channel has 2 plugs, 4 channel dimmer pack) I can,t find a generic strobe, I just need something to show me that their working when I program a scene,I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this!

Well you could use a or 64 profile and when the beam comes on then you'll know the ropes are on. But as of right now there is no 3D object for the ropes. Does the flash rate accelerate as you bring that channel up to full on?

Is there a single strobe light that only takes one channel in the library that I could use, as far as the flash rate I,m not sure because I,m still adding fixtures and building my stage, get ready ,I still don,t know how to create scenes and use this thing yet, Ive read through the manual, but there,s gonna be lot of playing with this thing!

i believe i can make u a profile for a one channel strobe light. may or may not work in the 3D though.
