I am using a run of the mill DMX dimmer pack and have a couple rows of par 38's for my front lights. When I go to their channel I have no light until the slider gets about half way, then its full on bright. No slow dimming whatsoever. I am using two dimmer packs with same address and they are both doing it (which rules out it being a dimmer malfunction). Any suggestions would be helpful.

This sounds like it probably to do with the profile you are using within MyDMX. Check the settings using the Scan Library editor.

Actually it could be the DMX address itself on the dimmer pack. Could you enlighten us on what brand the dimmer pack is? Also is it possible to post a picture of the dip switches, or tell me what dip switches you have on.

Or if you want try this on your own. Make sure dip switch 10 is off if it is on. On most dimmer packs I have worked with dipswitch 10 is always the switch between Dimmer Mode(Control over intensity)/Switch Mode(Off 0-49%, On 50-100%)

Damn that was cool!

Yea, the dipswitches 10 11 and 12 are on as well as #1 (its the first fixture). I have the eliminator ED 15. I will try to turn dipswitch 10 off and see if that works. I called Eliminator tech and he said to turn all the dipswitches on then off to reset and maybe unplugging the unit (sounds like a reach, but what the heck). Thanks for the input fellas. I'll let you know how it turns out.........

I'm using the generic 4 channel dimmer.

That would not be the profile. That to me sounds like you are using a dimmer pack set up as on/off only. Read your user manual to double check it is in dimmer mode.
And always change dip switches with the unit OFF. It's always best to pwer cycle after a dip switch setting change.

no I meant the problem you are having would not be caused by the profile. Generic dimmer is the profile you want. I'm saying you have your ED 15 set up as a switch pack not a dimmer. This can be corrected in your user manual. dip 11 on and 12 off. Give that a try.
