Bedroom DJ |
Hi,
is it possible to send midi signals to MyDMX software while MyDMX is running on windows in background mode. I have a korg Nano controller and can assign midi keys to each scene while MyDMX is running in foreground, but as soon as I run MyDMX in background it does not respond to the midi controller. Surely there must be a way as MyDMX is quite capable of running in background. For example I run Virtual DJ and have MyDMX running in the background. BTW thanks for the forum. |

Sorry for the lateness of my response. This is my territory and I've been working 140 hour weeks. I'm expecting to add another 20 hours to that. Sleep, it's so over-rated!
Anyhow, if you want to use MyDMX with MIDI, MyDMX MUST be in the FOREGROUND as the top running application. Discussion over. That's how MyDMX works. And yes, I'm using a korg NanoKONTROL as well with MyDMX, so I know what you're talking about. Ideally, you don't want all your eggs in one basket. Dedicate your laptop to Virtual DJ. Dedicate another smaller machine to MyDMX. That's what I plan on doing is getting a super compact netbook (that meets and exceeds minimum requirements) and installing MyDMX on it and that's all that that machine will run. That leaves my better laptop for ProTools, Sonar, whatever the heck else I want. -- Chris Pickett, Studio42 916-601-7089 http://www.studio42.com Anti Spam Advocate: http://www.studio42.org |
