But what about the speaker hangs and ground stacks of subs? Gotta take thos into account because those could block some beams.
Looks good. I still struggle with the 3D Visualizer. I recently had to do a new stage for the shadowcast event I am working on. Nowhere near as complicated!!(2 trees of lights, 2 movers, a small stack per side, 2 spots in the back) Of course, I stick with what I've got. It sort of helps! -- Chris Pickett, Studio42 916-601-7089 http://www.studio42.com Anti Spam Advocate: http://www.studio42.org |

Well it took me about 4 hours split into two nights. Those two half circles took a lot of time to get right. And the reason i didn't add any speakers is cause it takes up a lot of ram when you add high quality objects and i didn't want to bog down my pc. I'm glad you all like them.

Well, I'm embarrassed to post mine.
I am so thrilled at finding an object that was a titled floor! But, no way am I populating it with the 580 seats the auditorium holds! I'm going to repeat the process with 2 more "titled floors" for the walk ways. I want to add a screen and curtains, but it's not important for the overall concept. HOWEVER: Even though I am slacking and skipping some details, in my case I know what I can get away with. It is generally a good idea to try to build up your environment as best as possible. The more details, the better. -- Chris Pickett, Studio42 916-601-7089 http://www.studio42.com Anti Spam Advocate: http://www.studio42.org |

Have you used the video record feature on the 3D visualizer? I've tried few times (USB & Demo mode) and couldn't get it to work. Please let me know if it is possible.

Actually i used the program Fraps (www.fraps.com) to record the 3D window. I have used the recorder but it is only a feature when the interface is plugged in on the compu live interfaces. This will not work with my dmx.

Right, the recording thing does not work within MyDMX. You can capture a snapshot, which it does as a BMP file. For what I intended to use it for, that worked perfectly. Not ideal for showing animations of course, but ideal for what I chose to take an image of.
I tried FRAPS, but it seemed it was more screen oriented rather than window oriented. I'm going to give it a second shot though. I like Snagit better, which I used a LOT to make my animatics. The 15fps capture rate isn't an issue for my project. But since FRAPS is free, I intend to give it more of a test. Right now, I have my own design to do and then capture it to make an animatic of at least the first hour of a 97 minute film until the director gives me a complete script! Quick preview is right here: Repo The Genetic Opera From the scene "Zydrate Anatomy" And just to clarify, I'm not into this movie, it's a job. WARNING: Please sit down before viewing. No, not because you're going to be amazed by its awesomeness, but because you don't want to fall down and hurt yourself because it's so lame. Barf bucket optional. -- Chris Pickett, Studio42 916-601-7089 http://www.studio42.com Anti Spam Advocate: http://www.studio42.org |
