Hi,

I updated my strobe system today, I switched out my old S-100 and S-101's with two Neutron Stars and two new Energy One Strobes.

I'm controlling them with my old S-4, The problem is the all pulses from the S-4 don't fire all the strobes all the time. So in other words when the strobes chase they miss beats.

My old S101 work fine and and chase without missing beats.

I tried an old N*ss single channel controller, I daisy chained all four new strobes all fired on time without missing any beats.

Any ideas on a fix

Thanks

dj Otto

I haven't seen or used the new strobes yet. I'll see if Support, Tags, or Danny. Might be able to help.

I know that the S10-S works for the Neutron Star, but I'm not sure about the Energy One.

The Neutron Star with the S10-S allows you to set the controller to Audio or manual flash. Again I'm not sure about the Energy One contact support for more info.

The trigger is the same signal on both Strobes we are trying to repeat the problem here in house.

Hi Joey/ Support,

I pick up a new S-4/DMX (Serial #4513574) unit today and gave it a try with the strobes. It worked a little better. {I powered the unit with a 9 volt 800 mA transformer} When I turn up the speed past 90 the strobes stop flashing. The full on button works about 2/3 of the time. The Energy Ones seem to work better than the Neutron Stars.

This will get me through my next big event, but its definitely not a long term fix. Im glad you were able to duplicate the problem and are working on a fix.

Thanks

Hi,

I wanted to update everyone on my strobe situation.

Sometimes the simple things do not work as planned. The information I am getting from AMDJ is:

"There is no controller made yet for the Neutron Stars, Energy one, or the DMX Energy One. The units are made by different groups and are not compatible with the S4 controllers. The DBX output on the S4 is not compatible with the DBX Energy Ones.

I only want to chase the units, nothing extremely elaborate or complex. I have a show designer and a spare DMX Solo at my disposal, if that helps.

American DJ usually has great support I going into third month with this problem, so any help is appreciated.

We are working with the control people to get a fix it should be in about a month and we will get you an updated controller. It only happened with the combination you have, that's why it wasn't picked up in testing.

Thanks for the quick responce,

Like I said " Sometimes the easy things can be hardest to pick up "

Were doing DMX and Moving heads, lasers, but something 'simple' like chasing strobes can still be a pain.

I'd still like to know more about the DMX Enery Ones, I thought they would work and chase with an external controller?

For ease of use I have my Par lights on a cc-4000 and all dxm light on a show designer. I would like to keep the strobes on a separate control.

It took a little while but I have good news to report!!

I changed the chip in my new S-4/DMX to version 2.0 and the strobes work GREAT!! I used them for the first time tonight with the updated firmware and they worked just like my old system, but many times brighter. (1900 Watts!!!)

Thanks for the help and standing behind your products.

By the way the Energy Ones look as bright as the Neutron Stars. If youre worried about wattage and current, go with the Energy Ones and their lighter

Thanks again,

Frank
