Hi everyone, perhaps you can help me.

I have 12 P64 LED cans hooked up to an operator pro. I have 6 hooked up with the 1 dip on controlled on one channel and 6 with 1 and 8 on as another channel (controlled by the right side of the board)

Our pro-sound tech hooked them all up for us from the sound booth in the back of the hall and terminated it on the end.

Problem is that I have three unresponsive lights. One on the first channel and two on the second. They will turn on intermitantly and the one in the front has 6 or seven leds that will come on at first and then kind of warm up to having all the leds on but won't respond to the controller.

Do I have bad cans that need to be replaced or am I doing something wrong with the DMX?

Sincerely,

Jonathan Wilson

We are running two systems that sound similar to yours.

To me it sounds like one of three things:
1. I would "toggle" all of the dip switches to insure that you have a good seated position.
2. If the three lights in question are at the end of the string, I would check the cables.
3. If these lights are interspersed in the DMX run, I would try "relocating" the problem. By that I mean take them down and plug them in (one at a time to verify that they work) somewhere else in the string, preferably at the beginning of the string. That should let you know with confidence if it is a light problem or a cable problem.

I am a little curious as to why you are running some of your P64 LEDs on the "right" side of the board. Doesn't that defeat all your color capability?

Anyway, hope this helps.

Mike

Sounds like an inexperienced tech set stuff up.

I concur with the troubleshooting. Isolate out cables and fixtures. Could be an addressing issue as well, but I'm too lazy to download and refer to a manual to see what's going on.
