I bought a mega flash 800 off ebay (I know, I know) and it won't power on. I plug it in the wall outlet and nothing happens. The fuse checks out ok, is it the bulb? I will run this via DMX but I'm just tryng to test it in stand alone mode.

Does the power indicator light on the back come on when you power it on?

When the unit is plugged in the red power led does not light up.

Just an FYI update.
I took the unit apart and got the circuit board out. There is a small fuse on the board and it was blown. I popped a new fuse in and away she went. Wow! that thing is bright.

Cool news. Glad to hear it was nice and simple.

Sometimes poking around inside where they say "no user servicable parts" means "hey, why not take a look in there anyways..."

I do lots of my own repairs, and it ain't all pretty inside units.
