I never participate in the formal Microsoft beta-test. I wait for their product release and participate in the ACTUAL Microsoft Beta Test program(AKA: dump it on the population for a fee and then fix it constantly...)

Honestly, at this point, you're in a pre-release program. Two facts of life exist:
A lot of stuff isn't going to work right now period.
Some things(like 3rd party stuff) will have to adjust their stuff to comply with the new software.

Apple kinda gets a swift kick in the butt over this as well. They tried for years to keep Mac OS9 alive, and they did, but at some point, with the Intel CPU's, they had to cut the cord. This sucks for me because I have tons of Mac OS 7.1-9.1 applications I can't use anymore. On the other hand, those Macs still run.

When Windows 8 releases, do expect lots of incompatibility issues with certain software packages. Microsoft is working hard to phase out their old and force you into their over-priced new.
