Can anyone tell me if the concept 1's make all the racket that the mighty scans do during homing, or is it a quieter fixture? Thanks....

Is that noise really a problem?

I do know the fans can be a little loud until they've warmed up.

I happen to like the noise because it helps me check that my lights came to life when I power them up at a show.

I just have to defend the Mighty, that's all.

Are you looking to install a fixture in a quiet setting?

Best,

its not the fan noise that bothers me, its all the clicking and banging that takes place during the first few seconds the fixture is on (homing). I have a mighty in my bedroom and love it, with the exception of the homing noise. I want the quietness to keep it from disturbing others.

P.S. In case you are wondering, the primary reason for having the mighty in my room is for an alarm clock.

OK correct me if I'm wrong....isn't an alarm clock supposed to make noise...in essance the noise wakes you up.....why do you want a dj light fixture to be used for an alarm clock and then complain when it works and that's not the purpose of dj light. Maybe I missed something here Roll Eyes Cool

All four of my mighty scans make that same noise during start-up. Nothing to worry about man.

The noise when it kicks on in the morning to wake me up doesnt bother me ( i never hear it anyways, thats why i use light to wake me up, and in this case, strobing light). It's when i want to turn the fixture on at night when everyone else is asleep that i want it quiet.

P.S. In case you're wondering, i use a computer-based X10 controller and a heavy-duty appliance module on the mighty (various other devices in my room use X10). Set the controller the night before, and when the light kicks on, after homing, it moves to its wake-up positions.
