The mirror moves freely when the unit is unpowered. When you start it up it tries to rested to the home location but, instead of moving the mirror just vibrates. Both the pan and tilt are affected so I don't think that both motors went bad at the exact same time. I was wondering if a bad chip could be the issue. If i could get a schematic i might be able to track down the faulty part. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A while back, I had a Mighty Scan that had some issues with panning and tilting correctly (responsiveness/accuracy). I ended up replacing the pan/tilt circuit board, which is available HERE

It's a pretty straightforward repair and took care of the problems for me. The main PC board and color/gobo boards are available too if you ever need them.

Best,
