This has to be the worst decision I have ever made purchasing these lights. They had great promise but no matter how good they function, when the led burns out after only 400 hours, all you have is a spinning dark fixture in the ceiling that cost you a lot of money. This is not a one time incident. I have purchased 19 of them. Only 2 still light up. These were supposed to never go out (10,000) hours. This is a terrible lie that cost a lot of money and lost the trust that managers and club owners give to me when spending their money on light fixtures. I am disgusted with waiting for a solution from American DJ.

Actually these led lamps were rated for 50,000 hours. That comes out to about 5 and a half years. They last about 3 months.

Why aren't you calling Service and getting some sort of resolve?

I've found that ADJ stands/sits behind their prodcts better than most companies these days.

There have been some issues with the X-Moves, and this just just another issue, but this one is more of a "premature failure" issue, rather than an operational issue.

I have spoken to customer service about 3 times now. Each time they assure me they will look into it. I also asked if this is a normal problem for these lights and they tell me that it is not. I have shipped several of the units back for warranty repair. They fix them, send them back, and then they go out again. Basically you have to send the x-move in every 400 hours of service to have them change the light bulb.

Apparently they having a cooling issue and the LED's end up overheating, burning themselves out.

Only advise I can give is make sure your fans are clear and working. There is also apparently a mod out there that gets more air flow around the LED. Something you might want to look into.

My guess is AMDJ is working on a new version with better cooling for the LED to prevent this. They might also be working on something for the current version to help with this.

I would hope ADJ would either ship a re-fit/retrofit kit or issue a product recall. What sucks, from an ADJ point of view, is that this is going to be expensive to deal with.

I would want to question the original designers and see where things went wrong.

I just got some of my x-moves back from the service department. The repair order says they replaced the led and also installed a new "Upgrade Driver IC" it was upgraded to ver. 1.1. Anyone know what this is or if it may be the needed fix?

With the latest LED replacement an upgrade is required for all LED replacements.

I wonder if anyone else is having this issue as well. I was going to buy some of these for my setup but now I think I am not going to. I already had lights fail on me, like my Splash 200b from Chauvet, all the lights I had the center line of red leds failed on multiple units, even when I sent it back and got new ones. So I will wait and see if ADJ will make a better version of these fixtures because I was looking to getting some of these.

Damn that was cool!

I have gone through the same issue and have had to send back multiple fixtures as well, the problem lays within the cooling fan for the LED source if you have takin the cover off to look at it you will notice the bracket holding the fan covers more then half the fan it self which seems to be the problem.....dunno whos bright idea it was to have this bracket having to bethe way it is but sumone needs to be fired for this....very poor design and for ADJ not to pick up on this is pretty sad in it self. but from what i hear there is a new release comin out of the x-move's and x-scans called x_move PLUS no other info other then that...but keepin and earout for that.

Hi All,

Has this issue been resolved in the X-Move Plus? I just purchased 2 of these units but have not received them yet. I am hoping it has been fixed?
