I'm the new owner and proud of a Show Designer, got a great deal:

I have 2 Pocket scans 2 xp-3 and 4 onxy II to control with this. I have a dmx solo too. Planning on a major up grade soon. (wishing for 4 mighty scans)

What is the best way to get started? I have a good of idea of dmx basics, I think I'd like to hook up a single Onxy II and run a easy "small" demo with it. I heard there is a video for the Show Designer. I should have it by Friday

What kind of application is your lighting going into? Mobile, Club?

The first thing I would do is go to http://www.elationlighting.com/manual.asp and download the manual. Next look at the software version you currently have. When you power up, the bottom line of the display will show the version. If it ends with M2 or M3 you can download the latest version 2.13 and install it using the SD Backup program. These are all available from the same location. Finally I would erase the entire memory in case there is some garbage in there. Press "menu" then cycle through the menu selections while holding down "add" (this unlocks the erase memory function which is hidden). When you get to "erase all memory" press "enter" and follow the instructions on the screen.

I completed doing the updates, now it's Rev. 2.13 M2, and I blanked out the memory. I guess am ready to have some Fun. I would like to hook up two or threeof the Onxy II to it and start learning the basics.
