I had 4 p64 Led and one chavet Elan working off of an DMX operator. No problems. I bought 4 Dynasty scanners yesterday I took 1 and hooked it in to my system. Set the address. I can control it just fine. The only problem that it causes the other 5 lights in my system to randomly flicker. 1 will flick on green 5 seconds later one will flick on red. Very random.. no pattern. I have been told to get a termination. Got it, put it on same problem. I have tried all 4 of the scanners with the same exact problem. I swaped cables around. I have redone all the addressing several times trying different addressing each time. I have tried scanners first in the chain, last in the chain, in the middle, alternating scanner and P64. I have All DMX cables not Mic cables. I am at a loss and I have talked to no less than 34 people about this. Scoured the internet with no help.. Anyone that could help me I would be very happy with you. Virtual High 5 to the first that can help. Thanks for you help in advance.

how long is your total cable run? Perhaps a opto branch 4 would help ensure signal strength? Just a thought. Sincerely,

Obone,

I am not familure with the Dynasty units but that is what I would be focusing in on.

If it we me, I would go back to the setup I know worked and verify that it still worked.
I would then add the terminator and verify that everything worked.

Then I would unplug the terminator and add one new fixture, plug the terminator into the new unit and see if everything works.

If everything worked, I would unplug the terminator, add the second new fixture, plug the terminator into the output of the second new fixture and see if everthing works.

I would continue untill I found the defective unit.

As i said earlier, I suspect it is one of the new fixtures.

Good luck

Mike

Well I talked to ADJ tech support and they told me to just send the units in for them to test. While that is easy for them to say. That is a major ass whip for me to do. I instead took them to the guitar center I bought them from and inserted them in to their system. I made all of their lights do the same thing. So I must be very lucky and got 3 bad scanners from ADJ. Hopefully my new scanners work!!
